Preparation of nanocrystalline Al100-xSix (6 <× <40) based alloys by rapid solidification methods

Abstract

The evolution of grain refinement was followed by applying different rapid solidification (RS) methods (melt spinning and vacuum sucking) and parameters for Al60Si40 alloys. Dopings witk Fe-P a nanostructured (Al60Si40)92 Fe6P2 alloy have been prepared at excellent high temperature stability. Optical microscopy and X-ray diffraction techniques were used for characterization of the micro- and nanostructure.
