Pre-deployment simulation evaluation of BIONETS, A new networking paradigm

Abstract

Few years ago a revolutionary novel networking paradigm appeared in the research community, which resulted in the BIONETS project. The validation of such an approach is not simple and straightforward, as a crucial aspect is to check how such an autonomic computing and communication system behaves in mass-deployment scenarios, imitating real life deployment. Only a holistic simulation of the overall system could address this challenge, for this reason the BIONETS Simulator Platform was developed as a validation tool. From the large-scale performance evaluation it is clear that the system is stable and is able to provide the necessary functions to adaptive services.
