Abstract

The polycondensation reaction of furfurylalcohol‐formaldehyde catalyzed by phosphorous acid was studied by NMR. The concentration of the different end‐groups in the reaction mixture and its change with reaction time have been determined. The differential equation system describing the rate of elementary steps of the reactions has been set up. Approximative values of the rate constants of elementary steps have been determined by numerical integration.
