Polarized neutron reflectometer at the Budapest Research Reactor

Abstract

The reflectometer is installed on the curved neutron guide at the cold-neutron source of the Budapest Research Reactor. The neutron beam is monochromatized (λ = 0.43 nm) by pyrolytic graphite and filtered from harmonics by a Be filter. The scattering plane is horizontal. Prior to the installation, a careful magnetic calculation has been carried out for the polarization option. The parameters and abilities of the device are demonstrated by test measurements.
