Polarization of neutrons from the 2H(d,n)3He reaction between 90 and 175 keV

Abstract

The polarization of neutrons produced in the 2H(d,n)3He reaction was measured for five deuteron energies between 92 and 173 keV, with a thick TiD target at angles near 50° lab. The measurements were performed with a cloud chamber and with the associated-particle method. The polarization varies strongly in the energy range investigated. The results support the Wills' phase shifts.
