Poisoning of acidic centres in zeolites with sodium azide

Zeolite acid site catalysis was reduced or even eliminated with sodium vapour. Under appropriately selected conditions the remaining carboniogenic activity was zero. The same method could be successfully applied to influence bifunctional catalysis.
