Abstract

Describes the stratigraphy of this lignite mine with a geomorphological map of the surrounding area. The lower foothills are covered by alluvial fans, and the overburden yielded vertebrate fossils which are described and which date the layers, at least in part, as Lower Quaternary. Paleomagnetic data are also reported. -K.Clayton
