Abstract

We discuss pion interferometry in case the spacetime and momentum space is very strongly correlated, applying plane-wave approximation for the N-pion wave function. In the considered ideal case the two-pion correlation function depends only on the invariant momentum difference of the two pions and also on the transverse mass of the pions. This correlation function measures the Fourier transform of the evolution of the pion emission in proper time. The extracted source sizes are expected to be largest around midrapidity.
