Photoluminescence and distribution of Tg values in the GexSe1-x system

Abstract

It is found that Tg in chalcogenide glasses is an exponential function of the mean bonding per atom, m. PL intensity increases with T at low temperatures because self-trapped excitons are thermally freed, then at a characteristic temperature non-radiative recombination commences.
