Abstract

The different approaches to the inverse calculation of inhomogeneous thermal conductivity profiles are compared from photoacoustic data. Both simulated profile data and experimental photoacoustic data for a free surface 8CB liquid crystal sample with a magnetic field induced thermal conductivity profile have been used in testing the inversion procedures.
