Phase Field Modeling of Alloy Polycrystals

Abstract

The phase field modeling of alloy polycrystals was discussed. The alloy microstruture was computed using the adaptive grids and the parallel grids methods with each offering their own set of advantages. The growth of the alloy dendrites and their subsequent impingement to form grain boundaries was also demonstrated.
