Perspectives of CdS-Cu2S solar cells at high levels excitations

Abstract

The kinetics of laser-light induced photo e.m.f. is studied using CdS-Cu2S heterostructures. It is shown that the relaxation curves consist of two parts: a fast one with a duration of 0.5 ms and a slow one with a duration of 10 ms. From an analysis of these results it is concluded that at high intensities the difference between the behaviour of ideal and non-ideal heterostructures is negligible. Therefore it must be possible to use the CdS-Cu2S successfully under concentrated sunlight.
