Abstract

Laser light induced ignition of thin metallic plates upon oblique incidence of radiation in air is treated. The inflammation threshold parameter Pcr as a function of light incidence angle is measured. It is shown that at certain parameters the combustion has a periodical and stochastic oscillation characteristic.
