Abstract

Partial decay widths of the giant monopole resonance in 208Pb are calculated within the continuum RPA exactly, i.e. without any further approximation in a Woods-Saxon plus Coulomb potential and using a separable residual interaction. The giant monopole resonance is fragmented. The averaged widths and branching ratios are compared with other calculations and with available experimental data.
