Oxygenation of enamines catalysed by a copper(I) pyridine complex

Abstract

Cuprous chloride in pyridine catalyzes the oxygenation of enamines by oxidative cleavage of the double bond to give the corresponding carbonyl compounds. This nonenzymatic model shows some similarity to the action of pyrrolase.
