On the theory of ultrashort light pulse phase conjugation during stimulated Raman scattering

Abstract

The theory of non-steady-state stimulated Raman scattering by a heterogeneous laser radiation is developed in terms of a radiation multimode model. Phase conjugation realisation is discussed at backward scattering. It is shown that Stokes pulse shortening occurs due to phase conjugation. The possibility of Stokes wavegain with no front distortion is investigated at forward scattering.
