On the theory of the thin-film amplifier-oscillator

Abstract

The interaction of a plane, monochromatic, electromagnetic wave with an amplifying dielectric film is investigated without using the mean-field approximation. The injection locking has been analysed for the case in which both the frequency and the direction of propagation of the injected signal differ from those for a free-running thin-film oscillator.
