On the non-commutative two level model for metallic glasses

Abstract

The electronic lifetime is calculated for a metallic glass considering a general interaction between electrons and the two level system. It is shown that in the leading logarithmic approximation logarithmic terms occur only if at least two of the coupling parameters do not commute in the momentum space. The first contribution is proportional to the square of the logarithm which results in an increase of the decay rate as the temperature is lowered.
