On the calculation of impurity diffusion energies with the aid of bulk moduli

A half-empirical relation is proposed which permits the calculation of the impurity diffusion energies with the aid of bulk moduli. For impurities with electronic structures different from those of the noble metals as the solvent, the diffusion energies estimated on the basis of the bulk moduli agree better with the experimental ones than those calculated by applying the model based on the melting temperatures. An equation can be used to calculate the impurity diffusion energies.
