On-line GC-IR identification of the products of hexadecane oxidation

Abstract

The GC-IR Investigation of the oxidation products of hexadecane indicated that the main components of the reaction mixture are carboxylic acids, ketones and gamma-lactones. The ir spectra of GC-effluents allow primarily the type of compounds to be determined, for the identification of chain length one member of the homologous series should be identified by other methods.
