### Abstract

The aim of this paper is to solve the composite functional equation F(x + G(tH(y - x))) = R((1 - t)K(x),tK(y)) (x,y ∈ I, x≤y, t ∈ [0,1]) that arises in utility theory. Here all functions involved are considered to be unknown.
