Abstract

This paper explain the possibility of interaction between visually impaired people and a smartphone especially to replace the sense of sight with help of an android based OCR application. The application can accept voice commands or touch commands on the screen of smartphone and the result is communicated on speaker or headphones. OCR process occurs on a server on the internet to be faster and consume fewer hardware resources.
