The authors report on a series of measurements, carried out on some lesser known semiconductors, namely, H//yWO//3 (hydrogen-tungsten bronze), H//yNa//xWO//3 (hydrogen-sodium-tungsten bronze) and B//6As, that do not obey the simple rule for current response that has been almost invariably observed for semiconductor electrodes so far. The nonlinear dependence of photocurrent on light intensity for these materials is discussed and explained in terms of charge transport and injection kinetics.
