Abstract

63Ni volume diffusion in monocrystalline Ni2MnGa shape-memory ferromagnetic alloy was investigated in the temperature range of 700-1033 K. The composition of the alloy was slightly Ni rich and the direction of diffusion was perpendicular to the (100) plane. The temperature dependence of the volume diffusion coefficient can be described by the following Arrhenius function: D(T)=5.49-3.36+8.65×10 -8exp[-(146,000±6600)/RT]m2/s.
