The authors have studied immunity induced by RespiSure 1 One™ vaccine on conventional and Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae free piglets. In the first experiment conventional and M. hyopneumoniae free piglets were immunized once at 3 weeks of age, then 3 weeks later they were challenged by aerosol of M. hyopneumoniae culture. After 4 weeks of observation the animals were examined for gross and histological lesion in the lung. Based on clinical observation, gross pathological and histological examination it was found that clinical signs, gross and histological lesions connected with pneumonia were much weaker and weight gain was much higher in vaccinated than in non-vaccinated groups. Immunity of conventional and M. hyopneumoniae free piglets were similar. In the second experiment M. hyopneumoniae free piglets were immunized at 3 weeks of age, then they were challenged 124 or 155 days post vaccination. Results obtained were similar to the results in the first experiment.
