Abstract

Observation of 50 patients with migrating glossitis shows that this condition is more common in women. It is usually already present at birth or in infancy and is often associated with other congenital tongue lesions. Psychic stress often causes the symptoms to worsen. Histologic examination may reveal inflammatory reaction of the epithelium and subepithelial connective tissue.
