Abstract

Serological examinations in the stock may be best evaluated it it is compared to a basic value, established by a continuous program. During the evaluation of results, titers, their distribution and the variation coefficient are analysed. In order to operate efficiently the program, close co-operation of every participant in the poultry sector (system operator, laboratory, keeper of parents and broilers, slaughterhouse) is necessary. Examinations are relatively expensive, but by the accumulation of the collected experiences, more and more conclusions, important for the practice may be reached (relating to the earliest time of immunisation of young birds, technical deficiencies of vaccination programs, stress and toxin effects and inadequate immunization). Effects, influencing the production of a flock may be found on the basis of basic value as a reference.
