New high-efficiency biscoumarin laser dyes

Abstract

A new type of bifluorophoric molecule consisting of two heterocycle-linked coumarin fluorophors is studied. A high laser efficiency, a broad tunability range and good photostability for two synthesized biscoumarins are observed. One of the proposed biscoumarins covers the green spectral region where the efficiency of known laser dyes is relatively low.
