Neutron diffraction study of MnPd

Abstract

In the MnPd alloy an antiferromagnetic structure similar to MnNi with μMn = 4.4 ± 0.4 μB and TN = 540 ± 10°C has been established by neutron diffraction. Theoretical considerations reducing the uncertainty of this structure are given. An anomalous change in lattice parameters was observed below TN.
