Nanocoatings based on tin-dioxide

This paper reports a study on the chemical composition, the morphology, the type of nanostructure, the mechanical and chemical stability of ATO films deposited by sol-gel, and CVD methodes on glass substrate. For this investigation were used following techniques: AFM, XRD, XPS, UV-VIS spectrometry, ECI, measuring of the corrosion potential. The both samples have remarkable good properties: satisfying hardness, low electrical resistance, the charge carrier numbers approach the value established for metals and very high transmitíame in VIS region, and very low monthly corrosion rate. Based on these results, the use of CVD and SG films as protective coatings, is recommended.
