In the literature 59 cases of multicystic dysplasia of the kidney in adults have been reported. Many authors use different descriptions to characterize the same aspect of identical disease causing a confusing nomenclature. The disease is caused by a malformation in development. On the basis of three clinical case reports diagnosis, differential diagnosis and prognosis is discussed. One patient had an additional malformation. (M.Klippel-Feil).
