Abstract

Sarcoidosis was found in both members of a probably monozygotic female twin pair. The incidence of affected persons in the families of probands which is higher than that in the general population, and the high concordance rate of monozygotic twins make it probable that genetic factors play an important role in the etiology of the disease.
