Head and neck cancer (HNC) is a frequent cancer type in several geographic area of the world including Hungray due to wide spread smoking and HPV infections. HNC belonged to orphan tumors since the ineffectivity of the anticancer strategies. In the past decades this situation significantly changed resulting in imporvement in the clinical management of the disease based on surgery and combined radio-chemotherapy. Last years further improved this situation by the advent of EGFR targeted therapies. Considering the genetic complexicity of HNC further developments can be expected from the rational design of current therapies.
