Abstract

The methanol, chloroform, n-butanol extracts from flowers of Allium ursinum L. and the methanol, petroleum ether, chloroform and ethyl acetate extracts from roots of Asphodeline lutea L. were tested with regard to their reversal of multidrug resistance (MDR) in mouse tumour cells transfected with the human MDR1 gene. The methanol and chloroform extracts from Asphodeline lutea caused a marked inhibition of MDR in cancer cells.
