Modeling spatial filters of primary visual cortex

Abstract

This paper has shown that neural unit introduced for control may be identified with local circular and local orientational filters of the primary visual cortex. The condition of this identification is that competition should be introduced between the orientation sensitive units. The same competition was found useful from the point of learning speed in the control work.
