### Abstract

A model of harmonically coupled atoms in a random temperature-dependent single-particle potential is used to describe both order-disorder and displacive ferroelectric phase transitions. The coherent potential approximation is used to calculate the phonon spectrum of the lattice which is then employed to determine the temperature dependences of the order parameters in the case of a mixed transition.
