Micro-deformation in the sn region

Abstract

The mechanism of generating deformation was investigated in the singly closed shell region. It was shown that even a single proton is able to pol-arize the neutron cloud and generate some very small, /i?1’1 =: 0.02 deforma-tion. As fingerprints of this kind of micro-deformation the induction of quadrupole moment for the core, the alignment of broken pairs and the rearrangement of the neutron density distribution by a single proton are discussed.
