Metastable electron paramagnetic resonance spectra in the Charge Density Wave state of K0.30MoO3

Abstract

Unusual time dependent electron paramagnetic resonance spectra of K0.30MoO3 after a thermal quenching from 300 K to 4 K are reported. Two lines are observed, a broad line with ΔH1 = 20 G and g1 = 1.943 and a narrow line with ΔH2 = 7.5 G and g2 = 1.920. The narrow one is attributed to Mo5+ centers. An extra time dependent line is associated to CDW defects, possibly domain walls, appearing during the relaxation of the CDW state.
