Magnetic testing methods of high-temperature steels

Abstract

In this work the deterioration of the base materials of boiler pressure parts, steam pipes of power generators were investigated by magnetic testing methods. The coercive force and the magnetic Barkhausen noise were measured during the thermal shock fatigue process. Strong correlation was found between the above mentioned parameters and the remnant life of power plant materials.
