Magnetic and structural properties of finemet films

Abstract

The structural and magnetic properties of finemet thin films and bulk (rapidly quenched) ribbons show that similarities and differences can be found in the amorphous and in the nanocrystalline state. Crystallization begins earlier in the film. Soft magnetic properties can be achieved only during co-existence of α-Fe and amorphous matrix.
