Mössbauer study of ageing of electrodeposited Fe-Ni-Cr alloys

Abstract

Samples with compositions Fe-41.1%Ni-1.5%Cr and Fe-55.5%Ni-1.1%Cr were heat treated at 250°C and at 350°C for 2 hours. The Mössbauer spectra of all samples show a magnetically split pattern and a paramagnetic component and in the spectral linewidth as well as in the relative amount of paramagnetic component and in the spectral linewidth as well as in the average hyperfine field with increasing ageing temperature. The results can be associated with a phase transformation and with precipitation of alloying elements due to the ageing.
