Low electric field periodic poling of thick stoichiometric lithium niobate

Abstract

Electric field periodic poling of 3 mm thick stoichiometric helium niobate is discussed. The appropriate poling field strength was found to be as low as 200 V/mm, two orders of magnitude lower than in congruent material and 20 times lower than in the results obtained with near-stoichiometric crystals.
