Low cost composites made of oxides and nitrides: State-of-the-art and perspectives

Research output: Contribution to journalConference article

Abstract

Ceramics-based composite materials offer a lot of advantages in many structural and functional applications due to their outstanding properties. In this paper the state-of-the-art and the perspectives of ceramic-ceramic composites is reviewed. Topics discussed include processing, properties and applications of particular materials. Economic considerations associated with ceramic-based composites, and tasks of related research and development are outlined, as well.
