Abstract

It is shown that the chemical short-range order (CSRO) of amorphous Zr3Fe studied by Mössbauer spectroscopy is similar to the CSRO of metastable crystalline Zr3Fe formed during crystallization while it is quite different from the CSRO of the stable crystalline compounds (ZrFe2, Zr2Fe and orthorhombic Zr3Fe).
