Laser-induced optical changes in amorphous multilayers

The characteristic and mechanism of the light or heat-induced structural changes and interdiffusion in amorphous multilayers was studied by using small-angle X-ray diffraction (SAXRD) technique. The blueshift of the optical absorption edge was observed in the amorphous multilayers. The results showed that the amorphous multilayers with compositional modulation periods of 4 nm to 8 nm possessed the effect of blueshift of the fundamental absorption edge in as-deposited structures.
