Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy with 10.6-micron laser radiation

Transient laser plasma is generated using 10.6 micron radiation from a CO2 laser. Selected atomic and molecular emission spectra are recorded and discussed including atomic carbon, hydrogen and molecular CN and C2 Swan bands.
