Abstract

A model has been constructed for the simultaneous treatment of operational and investment costs of distillation columns. The model comprises the design parameters, and the dependence of separation efficiency on various vectors, and it can be used to determine the joint optimum of these parameters. As a starting point, the vapor velocity belonging to maximum efficiency has been chosen for a grid-plate column.
