Isomeric cross-section ratios for (n, 2n) reactions

Abstract

Isomeric cross-section ratios for (n, 2n) reactions at 15 MeV have been measured for the 34Cl, 38K, 69Zn, 88Y, 89Zr, 91Mo, 143Sm, 203Pb and 207Pb nuclei. On the basis of the Huizenga-Vandenbosch method, the isomeric ratios have been calculated for the above nuclei and also for 44Sc, 73Se, 81Se, 141Nd, 164Ho and 196Au. From the comparison of the calculated and measured isomeric ratios, we have deduced the probable value of the spin cut-off parameter and the moment of inertia of the nucleus.
