IR spectroscopic reinvestigation of the generation of acid sites in Pt-containing faujasite zeolites

Abstract

Two Pt/NaY zeolite samples were tested by a combination of instrumental analytical methods such as IR spectroscopy, XRD and TEM. The generation of acid sites and Pt nanoparticles was investigated upon various reductive treatments. The impregnation and the ion-exchange techniques result in different materials with respect to their acidities, particle sizes of platinum nanoclusters and the crystallinity of the zeolite matrices.
