IR-image visualization in a resonant medium

Abstract

The possibility of the stimulated conversion of the angular spectrum of a probe electromagnetic wave in a three-level nonamplifying resonance medium in the presence of a pumping wave with a wide angular spectrum is demonstrated. The possibility of using this conversion for infrared (IR) image visualization is discussed. The IR-image visualization is based on four-photon parametric wave interaction in resonant gas media. A related scheme can be used for phase conjugation in absorbing dispersive media.
